Miami Business Gifts Store is Among Non-essential Businesses to Face Closure Amidst COVID-19

March 26, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Miami, Fl.- Awards Trophy World, a business gifts store in Miami, Florida is one of the thousands of businesses being affected by the novel virus COVID-19 or Coronavirus. The awards store is facing temporary closure due to Florida’s mandates to gather in groups of less than ten people, as well as nonessential businesses being forced to close temporarily.

Florida is quickly becoming one of the highest-risk states for COVID-19 in America. It currently ranks 8th in the country for reported cases. Florida has had almost 1700 positive cases of COVID-19 and 22 deaths, all less than a month after the first cases were confirmed.

Orange County and several other counties in the southern Florida area are issuing a mandatory shelter-in-place in an attempt to stifle the rapid spread of the virus. These mandates are requiring nonessential businesses, such as Awards Trophy World, to cease business.

Despite the increasing number of confirmed Coronavirus cases, Governor Ron DeSantis is reluctant to shut down the whole state considering most cases are confined to a few highly populated counties.

According to Click Orlando, “On Monday, DeSantis said he did not want to close off Florida, instead ordering all travelers flying into Florida airports from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, so-called hot spots, to be screened for COVID-19 and placed under a mandatory 14-day quarantine after their arrival.”

The promotional items store in Miami, FL is concerned about how long the pandemic will keep them out of business. However, they are more concerned about the safety of their employees, customers and loved ones. Awards Trophy World assured their community they understand the shelter-in-place. They look forward to being able to open their doors to their community soon. But until then, they urge everyone to stay safe and stay indoors.
