The Price On Your Hair Of Having A Baby

New Survey by ThickTails Reveals that 1 in 2 American Women Over 30 Years-Old Suffer From Postpartum Hair Loss After Giving Birth to Their Baby

United States - July 12, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

A survey in June 2019 by ThickTails, the world leader in female anti-DHT hair loss solutions, among 709 American women over 30 years-old resulted in 54% stating that they had suffered either mild, average or severe hair loss within 6 months of giving birth to their baby.

This is in line with previous medical studies that have shown that following child birth, a woman’s estrogen levels fall during the postpartum recovery period and the body has a higher level of testosterone. In turn, higher levels of the active testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), are produced. DHT attaches to hair receptors resulting in hair thinning, hair breakage and hair loss.

Iain Sallis, Director of the Institute of Trichologists, explains that “post-birth hair loss is experienced 3 months after birth due to shock, hormone drop and anaemia”.

ThickTails has created a free booklet for women concerned that their hair is at risk from hormonal changes due to child birth and how, in turn, to protect themselves during their postpartum recovery period. Click https://promo.thicktails.com/childbirth to download the guide for free.
